To ask the Minister of Education in relation to the letter sent by the Education Authority to taxi drivers on 5 December, to detail (i) whether the appropriate procurement procedure was followed in the award of the current contracts with these taxi drivers; (ii) whether it is within the Education Authority's legal power to change or terminate contracts in this way; and (iii) the reason why the Education Authority has not asked all drivers to move to the Department for Infrastructure's published maximum fare rate per mile, to ensure equity, rather than taxi drivers on varying rates being asked to reduce their fares by 10 per cent.
